Our Company History

Origin

Cincinnati, Ohio based Doran Manufacturing, LLC opened in 1953 as a manufacturer of electrical interconnection products and continues its legacy by providing terminal boards for electric motors that are still made in the original factory location to a global customer base.

Expansion into Transportation Safety Products

In the early 1970s, Doran applied its engineering-based problem solving approach to vehicle safety and manufactured products for truck OEMs such as Peterbilt and expanded into terminal boards for MagneTeck and Parallax Power Components in the RV industry. For the past thirty-five years, Doran has been well known for their innovative transportation safety products for the school bus and truck fleet safety marketplace.

Addition of Monitors and LED Lights

Currently, Doran sells a complete line of transportation safety related products for both the school bus and truck markets. Specializing in LED and incandescent Exterior Light Monitors for all the major school bus OEMs, we provide Sleeping Child Check Monitors®, Emergency Exit Monitors, Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems, red and amber strobing warning lights, stop arm retrofit kits, 7" LED stop/tail/turn lights, slim-line LED clearance lights and triangular "cats eye" LEDs. Our durable product line has made Doran the number one choice of school districts and OEM's for years. Doran also supplies a complete line of LED lights for the truck marketplace.

Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

Doran extended the company’s transportation safety product offering in the early 2000’s with the addition of tire pressure monitoring systems for the RV and truck markets. Doran’s efforts propelled the company to earn the “Nifty 50: The Best 50 New Products of the Year” award presented by Heavy Duty Trucking magazine in December, 2004. The company established itself as a leader in tire pressure monitoring systems for the markets they serve.

To continue to enhance Doran’s leadership position, the company launched the next-generation Doran 360™ tire pressure monitoring systems for the RV and truck markets in early 2008. The new systems include a number of patent pending features that will clearly keep Doran at the top of the market. In addition, the new systems have received excellent reviews from the first customers for ease of use and reliability.

In addition, Doran is introducing an innovative new tire pressure monitoring system for motorcycles in the first quarter of 2008. This unique system will help motorcycle enthusiasts ensure that they will have a perfect riding experience on their tires.

Doran will continue the company’s strong track record of designing and providing innovative transportation safety products to their current and new customers. There is a genuine sense of excitement at the company due to the new Doran 360™ products and the number of innovative products that will be introduced over the next twelve-to-eighteen months.
